Graduation Ceremony

Graduation ceremony took place. Students have tried their best to learn the Japanese language for 1 year and 6 months or 2 years. I do hope that they will make great progress in their next stages. I am also looking forward to hearing happy news from our students.
Last Lesson Day

Speech contest took place on the last lesson day. Students have learned the Japanese language for 1 and 6 months or 2 years since they came to Japan. They have learned many Japanese vocabularies as well. As the 総括 of their Japanese learning, they wrote compositions with the theme of “My favorite phrase in Japanese” last week. They gave presentations about the composition. I am impressed that they made great progress.
Gift for Graduation

Before the graduation, students in Class A created original stamps for graduation gift. They were good craftspeople and finished carving in 2 hours. You did a good job!!
But you must make sure that the stamps that you created today are not available at city offices and banks.
SETSUBUN ＝the day before the beginning of spring＝

Spring will start from tomorrow on the calendar.
Bean throwing festival took place in SJLS. Students threw beans saying “Happiness inside!” and “Evils outside!” But they were sometimes rough, which made me feel a little sorry for the students who played the role of devils.
After throwing beans, students practiced singing for the graduation ceremony.
Lunar New Year's Party ＝Chúc mừng năm mới＝

As it is the lunar New Year tomorrow, a party to celebrate took place in SJLS today. It is common that students want to spend the precious time with their families, but in Japan it is common to study. SJLS is such a kind school that we hold a party altogether for our students.
All the staff and students brought dishes to the party. Vietnamese students cooked bun cha, which was delicious enough to serve at a restaurant. We all enjoyed the party.

The First Writing of the Year

We did the first writing for the year. Students wrote freely their favorite phrases, someone’s name they love, what they want the most, and so on. Some students wrote Vietnamese word and they said “It’s easier to write in kanji than writing in Vietnamese with the ink brush”.
The First Shrine Visit of the New Year

A Happy New Year!
Lessons restart from today. It being the first day after the New Year, we visited local shrines. 1st year students visited Raiden Shrine and 2nd year students visited Takatori Tenmangu Shrine, which an academic god is enshrined. Students got absorbed in fortune slips.

Christmas Party

Christmas Party took place on the last day before the winter holidays.
Students enjoyed making cakes, meals and games together. Bingo game and the charades were exciting.
Winter holidays begin from tomorrow. Please avoid all the troubles such as sickness, injury and accidents. The next lessons begin from Tuesday 7 January 2020.

Celebration Party in Class A

All the students studying in Class A have passed entrance examination to technical colleges. We celebrated their success. I spoke to them "Congratulations on your success in the entrance examinations. You made great progress and I am proud of you and your achievement. But you must remember that it is very important how you behave after winning".
But I wonder if it is alright to enjoy the party instead of studying before JLPT that takes place this weekend.
Autumn Excursion =Trip at Lake Haruna and Ikaho Spa area=

We visited Lake Haruna and Ikaho Spa area for our school trip. First we visited the lake. Students enjoyed taking photos in the beautiful scenery. Some students took boats for a good exercise. After which, we moved to Ikaho Spa area to visit the stone steps. We walked the 360 steps up to the top and visited Ikaho Shrine. Then we enjoyed the local cuisines for lunch. Some students soaked in a hot spring.
As we usually live in a plain, it was interesting to visit a mountainous area. We all enjoyed the autumn in Japan.

Result of JLPT

Result of JLPT that took place last month has been announced on the internet today. 7 students of SJLS took N2 and 3 of them passed. 4 students out of 9 passed N3. Congratulations on the great achievement!
On the other hand, those who did not succeed this time, please never give up. You still have possibility to pass next time. There is one more chance in December. Challenge again and never give up.
Summer Holidays of SJLS

How have you been doing with your summer holidays? Students are in summer holidays until Sunday 18 August. However staff are working during the summer holidays. Staff study about how to teach Japanese together, prepare for the lessons and examinations after the holidays. 2nd year students come to school to practice how to take an interview test. They also come to school to prepare for applying for the entrance to the further education.

Special Day for Career Guidance of SJLS

We decided to make the day career guidance on 12 July. Many of the 2nd year students participated in a seminar of college guidance held in Nippori, Tokyo. As they received some pieces of advice from the teachers of technical colleges, they were made to feel how strict it is to pass the entrance examinations that they are going to take during this school year.
On the other hand, those who did not go to Tokyo on the day practiced how to write application form, personal history record and letter of payment for school expense in their classroom. They also prepared for reasons for application.
All the students spent a satisfactory time on the day.
Star Festival and Summer Festival

Star Festival and Summer Festival took place. First students wrote wishes on strips. Then some students wore yukata to make the festival brilliant.
This year Summer Festival also took place. We enjoyed both a food stall, stir-fried noodles, snacks and soft drink, and a game stall, ball pitching game and water balloon fishing.
Here starts enjoyable summer with the Festival in our school.
Spring Excursion

It not being a fine weather, we visited an amusement facility, Round One instead of a zoo and play-land. Students enjoyed playing many kinds of games to their hearts content.

Beginning of School Year 2019

New school year of 2019 starts from today.
Everyone enjoyed learning Japanese for the first time in about 1 month. We all the school staff hope that our students will succeed in achieving their goals for the year.

Gift for Graduation

Students in Class A will graduate from SJLS next month. They created original stamps for graduation gift. They drew designs as they liked, traced the design on the stone and carved.
I am impressed that they all are talented artists!
Lunar New Year of SJLS

It is common that Vietnamese students want to temporarily go back to their home country to spend the New Year with their families. But in Japan, we must work or study even on the lunar New Year’s Day.
As it is the 1 January according to the lunar calendar today, a party to celebrate the lunar New Year took place for students. There is also a feature article for the event. Please read the article as well.
SETSUBUN

As it is Setsubun the day after tomorrow, the day before the beginning of spring, we threw beans to wish for a healthy and happy year. In the morning classes, we asked 2 students aged 24 to play the role of devils. In the afternoon class, everyone wore masks of devils and threw beans saying quietly “Evils outside. Happiness inside”. Thank you to those who put on masks of devils for your cooperation.
We will be able to lead a happy year.
Result of JLPT

The result of JLPT that took place in December 2018 has been announced on the internet. 4 students of SJLS passed N3. Congratulations to those who succeeded!
Unfortunately, not many students passed the JLPT this time. Those who succeeded in JLPT keep scoring more than 80% in the tests that they take in daily class. It proves that students can achieve their goals as long as they keep doing their best. It also proves that SJLS provides students with good education which is enough to pass JLPT.
Those who failed this time will have a next chance. We do hope that you will gain a new title next time.
New Year of SJLS

SJLS restarted classes from 7 January after the New Year. Students set goals for the year, enjoyed the first visit to local shrines and practiced the special New Year calligraphy.

Autumn Excursion

We enjoyed the Japanese autumn.
We climbed Mt. Hodosan, Nagatoro Town, Saitama Prefecture, for school trip.
We walked up to the top in about 1 hour. After the hiking we enjoyed the magnificent and famous scenery of "the Iwadatami" along Arakawa River.
We walked a lot and succeeded in enjoying the autumn in Japan.

The result of JLPT has been announced on the Internet. From SJLS, 3 students passed N3 and 1 student passed N2. Congratulations to those who succeeded!

Police Lecture

We held an event for the Star Festival. We wrote wishes on the strip of colored papers. Women, students and teacher, wore yukata, which made the festival brilliant.

We visited Ashikaga Flower Park for spring excursion. There were many beautiful flowers. We enjoyed taking photos and viewing flowers.

Entrance ceremony took place in our school. Everyone looked nervous, but they introduced themselves in Japanese very well. We are looking forward to seeing how much they will be able to improve themselves through their study and life in SJLS.

Graduation ceremony took place. 2 years have passed since they entered our school. It makes us feel that time goes fast. 29 students graduated from SJLS and will start their new life in April. We strongly hope for their success in their next stages.
Interview Activity

Class B visited Toyo University and conducted interviews to Japanese university students.
Our students asked university students about their part-time jobs, study and images about their home countries. Thanks to enough preparation for the interview, they succeeded in spending a good time.
This is a memorable event for our students. Thank you very much to the students of Toyo University for your kind and sincere cooperations.
Graduation Examination

Graduation examinations took place in each class. Our students will graduate from SJLS soon. We checked how much progress they have made through in SJLS through the examination.From April, new studies will begin. I hope that our students will study hard so that they can make great progress.
Graduation Trip

We went on Graduation Trip at Odaiba, Tokyo.
First we took photos in front of the statue of Gundam. Then we moved to Tokyo Trick Art Museum. Students enjoyed taking many funny photos. We hope that our students made enjoyable memories before graduation.
Our 2nd year students will graduate from SJLS in 2 weeks. This will be the first graduation ceremony for our school.

The result of JLPT that took place in December 2017 has been announced on the internet. There are 3 students who passed N3 and N2 in our school. Congratulations to those who succeeded.
Unfortunately, not many students passed the JLPT this time. We must say that there are more students who failed than those who succeeded.
Students in the 2nd year will graduate from our school in 2 months, but you will still have to continue studying after graduation. We do hope that you will gain new titles in your next stages.

It was so fun and delicious!
Christmas party took place on the final day before the end of this year. Students showed us many smiles that they do not normally show in the ordinary classes.

The result of JLPT was announced on the internet. From SJLS, 6 students passed N3 and 2 students passed N2. Congratulations!!!
This proves that students who can keep doing their best make great progress and SJLS can provide them with good environment. All staff are proud that our students gained the title of “N3 Pass” and “N2 Pass”. On the other hand, some students did not succeed in the JLPT this time. However there is still one more chance. We do hope that our students will challenge again in December without giving up. Never give up until you succeed.

As it was the last school day before summer holidays, police officers visited our school to give us some lessons about rules of the traffic, daily life and part time jobs, which international students should obey.

Spring excursion at Tobu Zoo & Playland.

We visited Tobu Zoo & Playland for school excursion. We played in the amusement park in the morning, then we enjoyed the zoo in the afternoon. Some students rode on roller coasters again and again and others enjoyed with cute animals. We all had a good time.
